Mitsubishi Lancer Ralliart is slated in between the base and high performance Evolution model. It was launched in North America in 2004 along with the Sportback model.

2004 Lancer Ralliart

Lancer Ralliart included stiffer suspension that lowered the vehicle’s stance by 2-cm and also improved the handling. This variant was equipped with a 2.4-L four-cylinder engine that delivered 162 hp and 162 lb-ft of torque.

The front bucket seats were borrowed from Mitsubishi’s Evolution GT-A; the other enhancements included aerodynamic ground package, upgraded sound system, ABS, fog lamps, and sport tuned suspension.

Ralliart also featured clear rear tail lights, cosmetic deck spoiler, and came equipped with either five-speed manual or four-speed automatic transmission.

2005-09 Lancer Ralliart

After its introduction in 2004, Lancer Ralliart remained unchanged, and the Sportback wagon, introduced along with Ralliart, was discontinued in 2005. The Convenience package was upgraded with color-keyed mirrors, intermittent wipers, and cruise control.

In 2006, Lancer Ralliart received daytime running lamps, front fascias, new seat fabrics, standard side-impact airbags, and front-seat occupant sensor for airbag deployment.

Beyond extra power, Mitsu had packed the Ralliart with larger brakes with ABS, tuned the suspension with higher spring rates, electronic brake-force distribution as well as larger anti-sway bars.

2009 Ralliart made its debut bringing a turbocharged engine, all-wheel drive, keyless entry/ignition, and automated dual-clutch manual transmission.

The Ralliart was featured with a Rockford Fosgate audio system, sport seats, and Recaro Sport packages.

Power to 2009 Ralliart came from a 2.0-L turbocharged inline-four cylinder engine that produced 237 horsepower and 253 pound-feet of torque.

The fuel economy ratings of 2005-09 Lancer Ralliart models were more or less same i.e. 17 mpg in city and 25 mpg on highways.

The Ralliart variant was very quick, with the 0-60 mph sprint in just 5.8 seconds, which is above the average for this segment.

2010-11 Lancer Ralliart

2010 and 2011 Lancer Ralliart gains number of standard and advanced safety features, including shorter radio antenna, revised taillights, electric-assist power steering, revised cabin accents, and new side sill extensions.

2012 Lancer Ralliart will be powered by the same turbocharged engine and is expected to reach 0-100 km/h in less than 10 seconds. Mitsubishi is expecting at least 5 hp boost as compared to previous variants.
